• Spiked Seltzer Review

Spiked seltzer asked me to taste their beverages and I thought I would do a video review for you. Spiked Seltzer is a gluten-free, all-natural, low carb beverage with 6% alcohol. I found them to be very refreshing and crisp, with a light fruity flavor that wasn’t too sweet or overpowering.  They would be a great accompaniment to a salad or other light fare. I would definitely bring some to a picnic or to the beach to enjoy with friends. Here is a link to learn more information and to find out where you can find them in your are: https://www.bonandvivspikedseltzer.com/ I hope you enjoy them. I know I did! • Tortilla Soup

This week I’m sharing one of my favorite recipes with you Chicken Tortilla Soup, which is naturally (or at least it should be) gluten free. There are many of different ways and recipes for making Tortilla Soup.  I like this recipe because it doesn’t take as long as most recipes and a lot of the work is done for you in a blender or food processor.  I was joined by my fellow Lipstick Sisters Stephanie Kwong and Lisa Kiyomi in the making of my YouTube video too.  We had such a great time sharing stories, bonding over food and enjoying the delicious rewards of our work (scroll to the bottom for some photos from the set).  Please let me know if you try the recipe and what you think. • Natural Products Expo West Update & Interviews

Last week was the Natural Products Expo West.  It was a huge event one of the largest conferences I’ve ever been to. I was only able to go for one day and I certainly couldn’t see it all. But I did manage to grab some amazing interviews with some great innovative companies in the gluten free world like Udi’s, Bob’s Red Mill, Vans and Food Should Taste Good. I have about 8 to 10 interviews to edit so I will be unveiling them over the next 2-3 weeks. Here are some of the great items that I was given.  They should be on your store’s shelves in the coming months, if they aren’t there already….except the scarf, that’s mine. 😉 Gluten Free Avenger Episode 5:  Natural Products Expo West Haul is now live on YouTube, you can use this link (http://youtu.be/quQTpEdXYBI) or view it below:     Van’s Foods Interview I’ve… Read More

  • Mexican Feast Part 1: Chicken Enchiladas

This is Part 1 of my Mexican Feast series, Chicken Enchiladas.  I love Chicken Enchiladas and they are naturally gluten free and full of flavor.  Hooray!! As you may have picked up, I love Mexican Food…to me it’s just food.  When I learned I had to give up gluten, I was so happy to find out that I could continue to eat one of the biggest food types I eat…Mexican.  These enchiladas will take you about 1 1/2 hours to prepare from start to finish, you won’t have to be working the whole time but make sure you’re not hungry when you start making these.  I like to make these on the weekend and freeze the leftovers for lunch or fast dinners during the week. • Mexican Chicken Vegetable Soup

I had a version of this at a restaurant in Cabo San Lucas.  As soon as I got home from vacation I worked to make this recipe for Mexican Chicken Vegetable Soup, which has a lot more veggies.   It’s basically a chicken vegetable soup with poblano peppers, queso fresco and cilantro to give it the Mexican flavor.  This is one of my favorites, especially when it’s cold outside.  You get a little heat from the poblano pepper and the temperature of the soup.   I hope you like it!
